Help provide 80,000 meals to those in need

Join us in supporting real change. Let’s support good in the world and make a difference. Help us feed those hungry in our community!

RIFA is launching a campaign called "80,000 Meals in Eight Weeks" with the goal of raising enough money for 80,000 meals during the months of April and May to help them continue the fight against hunger in our community

$50 = 60 meals

$75 = 90 meals

$100 = 120 meals

Just a small donation will go a long way to helping me meet my goal for RIFA. When you give, you are helping to meet the needs of the hungry, homeless, and hurting in our community offering them hope for today, hope for tomorrow, and hope for eternity. Your gifts matter.

Children and adults face hunger in every neighborhood across the country. Your neighbor, child’s classmate or even coworker may be struggling to get enough to eat. Imagine waking up and not knowing where your next meal will come from. Sadly, this was a reality for Delores.

Delores grew up in a military family originally from the Jackson area but moved around quite a bit. As an adult, she was a hard working truck driver for many years until a medical condition forced her out of the business. She accepted a job opportunity in Wisconsin to start a new career but soon returned to her hometown of Jackson to take care of her mom until she passed away.

After the expenses of her mom’s death and helping family members, Delores found herself living in her car and skipping meals to pay for gas. She eventually sold her car to buy a tent and food for a few months. Eventually, she didn’t know where her next meal would come from. This is when we met Delores. A local church referred her to RIFA, and Delores began coming to the Soup Kitchen every day for breakfast and lunch. Soon after, she began to volunteer because she wanted to work for her food.

“RIFA means a lot to me,” Delores said. “They helped me through a period of my life when I had nothing. At RIFA, I could get a meal, a shower and wash my clothes. I believe God puts certain people in your life for a reason and Ms. Susan and RIFA led me down a good path.”

Delores is now working full-time and able to pay for her food, transportation and housing. She is thankful that donors helped her in her time of need. They gave her food when she didn’t know where her next meal would come from. They loved their neighbor. They gave her hope.

We rely on your gift to continue to reach out to people like Delores with the love of Christ by providing physical and spiritual nourishment.
